Buffalo Bill Days is a funding raising event in part to support the restoration and preservation of Sheridan Wyoming's history and heritage.  The Sheridan Inn, a National Historic Landmark is in serious need of funding to repair the foundation.  You can help by participating as spectator at this annual event or helping out as a volunteer.

 TUESDAY JUNE 24

Wild West Serenade & Prairie Picnic
5 to 9pm on the Lawn at the Sheridan Inn         

Bring the whole family, and enjoy the music! 

 WEDNESDAY JUNE 25

Living History Family Night
5 to 10pm on the Lawn at the Sheridan Inn.         

Free living history demonstrations, old time children’s games, and fun contests.  Explore what life was like during the days of Buffalo Bill and the Wild West, from trying your hand at churning butter and playing old time children’s games to learning about the frontier military or taking part in a pie-eating contest.  Check back for a schedule of the evening’s fun events!

6:30 p.m. – Buffalo Bill’s Cowboy Band kicking off the Wild West Show

Grand Ball DANCE LESSONS
2:00 pm Sheridan County Fairgrounds -
                Exhibit Hall  [map]

Instructors (TJ Wald) will be ready to teach the various dances of the late 1800s.  PLEASE attend so you will be ready to hit the dance floor in 1800 style.  Ball Tickets are required for dance lessons.  LESSONS ARE FREE TO TICKET HOLDERS.

Step back in time as Buffalo Bill leads the Grand March followed by a Grand Victorian Ball with period costumes and authentic 1890's style.  Participate in the reenactment of the 1893 Grand Opening of the Sheridan Inn. Music as performed by Professor R. Alexander James and His Distinguished Dance Music Ensemble.
Period dance attire is recommended but western attire is okay for attendance. For Costume rental contact:

8:00 am Wyarno Bar and Grill, arriving at the Sheridan Inn approximately 9am.

Pony Express Re-enactmentThe American West Pony Express was in operation from April 1860 to November 1861. Experience the re-enactment as the Pony Express rides in and the Post Master waits at the Sheridan Inn to hand stamp real post cards to be mailed!

The mail exchange points will begin in Wyarno, exchanging 5 miles and anticipating arrival at 9:00 am, across from the Sheridan Inn at the railroad tracks. 

SATURDAY, JUNE 28 ACTIVITIES

Buffalo Bill's Cowboy Band

Sheridan Inn

9:00 am - Musicians perform the music of Buffalo Bill's Cowboy Band. They will perform at the Birthday Celebration at 11:30 am and again before the Buffalo Bill Days Wild West Show at the fairgrounds beginning at 7:30 pm.

GRAND WESTERN PARADE
10:00 Sheridan Inn, Starting at The Sheridan Inn

The old western style parade complete with horse-drawn wagons, characters dressed in era clothing, traveling entertainment—all ages participating. The parade will begin at the Sheridan Inn, following the original parade route.  Traveling South on Broadway, turning on Works toward Main Street to 4th Street, returning to the Sheridan Inn.  This parade is unique in that motorized vehicles are prohibited, replicating the original late 1800’s style parade. Historic Sheridan Inn 115th Birthday Celebration

Kickin’ off the celebration with The New Sheridan Cornet Band performing musical selections of the era, cutting of the cake.

SATURDAY, JUNE 28 - Evening

BUFFALO BILL DAYS WILD WEST SHOW
7:30 pm Sheridan County Fairgrounds (gates open at 4pm)

This years performers will be greeting you at the gates at 4:00 pm.

Kicking off the Wild West Show with The New Sheridan Cornet band playing the original music of Buffalo Bill’s Cowboy Band.

 

The grand entry parade kicks off the Wild West Show. Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane and Buffalo Bill will be on hand to help you experience the true old west at the Wild West Show featuring:

  • Roman Riding

  • Trick Roping

  • Six Shooters Bull Whips

  • Westernaires

  • Stage Coach

  • Dangerous Pony Express Re-enactment
